The sovereign debt crisis of the eurozone has created a trial by fire to the European project. Last Monday (21 March 2011) I gave a presentation at the Center of Excellence in the Foundations of European Law and Polity, exploring the various legal difficulties inherent in current and future bailout operations, which seek to stop the euro from breaking down. I also discussed the ongoing treaty reform attempts and their constitutional implications.
